The Team

The Fynbos Trail was established by Sean and Michelle Privett and is run from Witkrans Farm, a member of the Walker Bay Fynbos Conservancy. Sean has a Masters Degree in Botany and an enormous passion for fynbos and its conservation. His broad knowledge of the Cape flora, dedication to its conservation and passion to share his knowledge with others, has earned him a reputation both locally and internationally as a leader in developing practical, fynbos conservation initiatives.



Billy Robertson - Guide
Billy is a registered FGASA guide with many years of experience in nature guiding in southern Africa. Billy has deep love for nature and has been fascinated by the Cape Floral Kingdom for many years. He also has a passion for photography especially the natural world and all its diversity. Africa's nature has always been his joy and over the last decade Billy has specialized in the marine and terrestrial diversity of the Walker Bay Region.




Christoff Longland - Guide
Christoff is an accredited guide with 13 years’ experience in leading hiking, fynbos and birding tours. He is FGASA and DEAT qualified and also has safari experience. He also works for Grootbos and has a staggering wealth of knowledge of fynbos, trees and birds.




Nina Martin - Reservations
Nina is the lady 'behind the scenes' who pulls it all together, from answering the enquiries, invoicing and ensuring all your needs are taken care of before your arrival on the trail. She has a passion for nature and takes increadable photographs. She also enjoys hiking, running and cycling.




Nolubabalo 'Ivy' Mnyaka - Catering
Ivy has worked at Witkrans for 8 years. She started off cleaning and when we started the trail expressed a keen interest in the catering side. Ivy now prepares the lunches and allot of yummy bakes out on the trail.

 

 




Mziwenkosi 'Kosi' Maboko - Driver/ Logistics
Kosi was one of the first Green Futures graduates from Grootbos. He was also one of the top students chosen in 2007 to go to the U.K and do work experience at The Eden Project. He has been employed at Witkrans since 2008. Kosi is our Farm Manager and also helps manage Sean's many landscaping projects as well as driving the luggage from each overnight, transfers and lunch delivery. On his off weekends he pastors a church in the local township.
