The Trail

The Fynbos trail is a unique nature experience in the heart of the Cape floral Kingdom that can be undertaken as a fully guided and catered slack packing trail or as a self-guided and catered trail. The trail has a two or three night option and takes hikers along a beautiful stretch of trail through coastal and mountain fynbos, remote forests and visits some fascinating environmental and social projects along the way.

Coastal Trail

A coastal section can be added on to the start of the Fynbos Trail.

Hikers adding this section to the core Fynbos Trail enjoy an afternoon walk along the coast with a guided tour of the Drip Kelders cave. Hikers then overnight at a guesthouse in De Kelders, then after a hearty breakfast hit the trail the next morning. The Team

Walker Bay Trails was established by Sean and Michelle Privett and is run from Witkrans Farm, a member of the Walker Bay Fynbos Conservancy. Sean has a Masters Degree in Botany and an enormous passion for fynbos and its conservation. His broad knowledge of the Cape flora, dedication to its conservation and passion to share his knowledge with others, has earned him a reputation both locally and internationally as a leader in developing practical, fynbos conservation more
